Our History

Founded in 1999 in Richmond, Virginia, the Virginia Beer Museum began as a tribute to the Commonwealth's brewing legacy. From Thomas Jefferson's brewing experiments at Monticello to the modern craft beer boom, we tell Virginia's unique beer story.

Over the past 25 years, we've grown from a small collection celebrating Virginia breweries to become the premier destination for understanding both local brewing heritage and the global evolution of beer culture.
